WINNER OF TRAVEL WRITING COMPETITION -
I was thrilled to have won a major travel writing competition and won 2 return tickets to New Zealand with Air NZ. I have just returned from my 'AROUND THE WORLD IN 50 DAYS' trip -callling in L.A. San Francisco, Yosemite, New Zealand, Macau and Hong Kong and London on the way. Please contact me if any of these are on your 'wants' list.
NEW ZEALAND NEWSPAPER -
My first travel article in NEW ZEALAND was published in top selling newspaper - full page front cover of their colour travel supplement 'Escape'. Look out 80,000 unsuspecting Kiwi's!
'LIVING SPAIN' MAGAZINE published my 4 page article 'La Feria De Abril' - in their Summer Edition, all about my amazing trip to the April Fair in Seville.
'DANCE TODAY' MAGAZINE have my 5 page article 'Deperately Seeking Sevillanas' in their June issue, about the fabulous 'Sevillanas' which are danced all day and night during the week long fair, which is Spain's biggest and best party.
I have also written articles for other newspapers in New Zealand, Spain and the U.K.
MY FIRST PUBLISHED ARTICLE -
My first published article was in WANDERLUST Travel Magazine, when I won my first travel writing competition and it featured one of my favourite places in Spain - seductive Sevilla. I was absolutely thrilled to win, as it was the first time I'd ever submitted my writing.
MONTHLY TRAVEL COLUMN -
Since then, I have gone on to write a regular, monthly travel article for a wonderful, glossy magazine in southern Spain, called LEVANTE LIFESTYLE, specialising in Andalucia where I live for 6 months of the year.
I have written about Seville, Cordoba, Almeria, Granada, Sierra Nevada, Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New Zealand. It's good to know that many people have been encouraged to visit these beautiful places after reading about them and are taking my 'guides' with them.
MY FIRST MAGAZINE COVER PHOTO -
My first magazine cover photgraph was published at Christmas. My second cover soon followed with my shot of a KASBAH in Morocco.
I had two 'SCOOPS' and my photos of fires in Spain were full front pages of newspapers.

MY AIMS for 2010 -
My aim in 2010 is to CONTINUE adding to the list of magazines, newspapers and websites around the world to spread the word about the very best dynamic destinations, airlines, accommodation and attractions.

Sell my images through this website, as I get lots of requests to buy them. (Coming soon.)
Try new markets, such as calendars, greetings cards, and new magazines.
To continue talking to the people behind the successful airlines, hotels and restaurants to find out their latest offers.
Keep loving what I do.
LAST YEAR my aims were:-
To learn about the 'HAKA' from a Maouri when in New Zealand (it's for men only so I'll have to watch).
DONE - Thanks guys, I had a ball!
To hug a giant redwood in Yosemite, California.
DONE - I also hugged one in New Zealand.
To escape from Alcatraz.
DONE - Got out, but would love to go back
To see Frank Sinatras' 'Star' in Hollywood. DONE - His hand prints fit mine EXACTLY!
To sail from Hong Kong Harbour to Macau. DONE - managed to avoid Swine flu en route...
To jump out of another plane.
Nearly DONE - the weather let me down.
To be published more widely around the world and on the web
DONE - add Canada, Kaikoura NZ, and www.thetraveleditor.com to name but a few.
That's nearly 7 out of 7 accomplished in 2009.

TRAVEL WRITING AND PHOTGRAPHY FESTIVAL -
2ND ANNUAL FESTIVAL takes place THIS WEEKEND - I can't wait to attend again this year, fom Fri-Sun. Looking forward to meeting more legends of travel writing and photography -i.e. Don McCullin, Dervla Murphy, etc, etc.
Last year, at the Travellers' Tales first annual 'Travel Writing and Photography Festival' at the National Geographic Society in London - I met STEVE McCURRY, ART WOLFE and COLIN PRIOR, and legends of travel writing as COLIN THUBRON and WILLIAM DALRYMPLE and had discussions with travel editor's from CONDE NAST magazine, WANDERLUST magazine, The TIMES ONLINE, The GUARDIAN, The INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY and the TELEGRAPH Group.
